The ceremony was attended by esteemed dignitaries, including notable leaders from the management field: Prof. Bharat Bhasker, Director of IIM Ahmedabad; Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, Director of IIM Nagpur; Rajiv E, Executive Director of iACE; Amit Agrawal, Education Director of the foundation; Bahumeet Arora, Transformation Director of the group; and the company’s directors, Karnail Singh Cheema, Kokila Cheema, and Ankur Singh Cheema.
During the inauguration, KS Cheema, founder chairman and managing director of the group, said, “August 30, 2024, will leave an indelible mark in our life. We have embraced the noble cause of imparting knowledge and education, prioritizing social impact over profitability. Education and knowledge have always been my passion and today marks a significant milestone as we officially launch this institution, a Section 8 company (non-profit/charitable institution). We intend to make education available, affordable and accessible.” The launch was followed by a three-hour knowledge exchange program titled ‘Evolution – Driving the Future – The Automobile Revolution through Electric Vehicle Technology.
“Dr. Metri, the chief guest and keynote speaker, emphasized the importance of education and appreciated the initiative of KS Cheema, whom he described as a benefactor of education and a person who walks the talk. This was followed by addresses from other keynote speakers, businessman Randheer Singh, and Prof Raghavan K. The program was attended by over 150 students and leading figures from the city,” the team says.
The panel discussion that followed focused on the use of electric vehicles and sustainable alternatives to reduce carbon footprint. The discussion featured insights and perspectives on E-Mobility from experts including businessman Mr. Abhay Mangaldas, Dr. Sanjay Patel, an academician and Pankti Pandey, a sustainability expert. The panel discussion was moderated by Mr. Amit Agrawal.
KS Cheema stated, “Our goal is to create a distinguished university within the next six to seven years. A core principle of our foundation will be fostering pride in honesty, integrity, respect, behavior, and refined manners. These values will serve as the foundation of our character-building initiative, in addition to providing high-quality education.”
The management also revealed plans for the first year, which involve launching several certificate programs in information technology, democratic processes, and electric vehicle technology, to be held in Ahmedabad and Nagpur.
“The KS Cheema Group, under the leadership of its chairman, has experienced remarkable growth since its inception with a real estate project in Nagpur in 2012. Today, the organization has expanded to nine cities, establishing automobile dealerships for multiple auto brands. The group has also diversified into mining, real estate development, and logistics, solidifying its position as an impactful and diversified organization” the team adds.
